Air Canada New Livery - unveiling October 20, 2004 @ YVR

On October 20, 2004 Air Canada unveiled its new livery at YVR with the new scheme on one of its 767-300s. The new livery was also unveiled at other lcoations across Canada prior to the visit to YVR. Accompanying the 767-300 was an Embraer 170, one of the new aircraft to soon entire the Air Canada fleet. The example on display was in Embraer colours. The EMB-170 was scheduled to do a number of flights for lucky Air Canada employees. I was able to hang around long enough to photograph one departure and recovery during an extended lunch hour. Here are some pics of the new Air Canada livery and the newest aircraft type to enter the Air Canada fleet:

Even though the purpose of my short trip to YVR on the 30th was to see the new livery and the Embraer 170, the highlight was actually this An-124, which just happened to depart while I was there.

And another bonus was this Lufthansa A340-600 in the Star Alliance livery. I was about to head back to work when I saw it in the distance on final approach. Thought I'd hang around for it as they were using the south runway temporarily for arrivals....glad I did.
