This series of photographs was, like the Thunderbirds set from Thursday, taken opposite the airshow grounds on the south side of the active runway. However, this time we were situated at the west end of the field. The clouds cleared in time for the Thunderbirds to perform their high show. Of the four flights over the weekend, only Friday's was not a high show.
Thunderbird #6 experienced flight control problems (locked leading edge slats) early in the performance and was escorted to the ground by #5. 14 minutes after touching down Captain Todd Canterbury was airborne in #7 and the performance resumed. The middle image in the second row below is Major Shawn Pederson in #5, tucking in the gear, immediately after escorting Captain Canterbury to the ground.
