The 40th edition of the Abbotsford International Airshow began on a bit of a rocky start. Gene Soucy and Teresa Stokes did not arrive until Friday evening due to poor weather farther east. As a result the performances of the Extra 300 and the wingwalking on the Showcat did not materialize on Friday. As well, the scheduled Helijet S-76 demo and Air Canada 767 flybys did not occur. Chris Avery was unable to fly the F4U Corsair on Friday due to maintenance issues but as a bonus flew a TS-11 Iskra in his time slot. The Corsair, Gene Soucy and Teresa Stokes, the S-76 and the Air Canada flybys all went ahead as scheduled on Saturday and Sunday.
