The highlight of the Media Day activities was the afternoon Maple Flag launch. We were escorted to a fabulous location near the east runway for some unbelievable photo opportunites for the launch of most of the aircraft, including the NY ANG F-16s, Belgian F-16s, EA-6Bs, OR ANG F-15s and CF-18s. Part way through the launch, the adversary aircraft started making their way to the west runway for their departures. We made our way over that way to catch the F-16s from Nellis and the two Advanced Training Systems International A-4 Skyhawks take off. Joining the F-16s and A-4s with adversary duties during the exercise were a few CF-18 Hornets. Images from the afternoon launch in chronological order below:
