There was plenty of activity at Cold Lake when aircraft participating in Maple Flag were not active. Regular training activities involving the base's CF-18 Hornets and CT-155 Hawks still took place between the morning and afternoon Flag training missions as well as in the afternoon after recovery of the last aircraft participating in the afternoon mission.
