The folks at McChord AFB always put on a first-class event and 2005 was no exception. Static displays were a little on the sparse side, but that was just a sign of the times in 2005, with increasing military commitments around the world. The flying displays were fantastic and featured the USAF Thunderbirds, F-15 Eagle and F/A-18 Hornet. The weather was also amazing, which isn't exactly normal for an airshow at McChord. In all the shows I've been to at McChord since 1997, this is only the second time I've actually seen Mt. Rainier. What a fabulous backdrop; if and when it does decide to come out of the clouds. Below are my pics from the show.
