NAS Whidbey Island is home to the entire Navy fleet of EA-6B Prowlers and is the West Coast base for the P-3 Orion. Also supporting the base are a number of UH-3H Sea Kings, DC-9 Skytrains and C-12 Hurons

3 Orions and 4 Prowlers performed a mass flyby to salute the 60th Anniversary of NAS Whidbey Island.

The DC-9 Skytrain provides airlift capability around the world from NAS Whidbey Island. VR-61 'Islanders' operates four DC-9s, which are newer versions than the standard C-9B and have retained the designation "DC-9".
