Concorde G-BOAG Final Flight November 5, 2003

On November 5, 2003, the Museum of Flight in Seattle took possession of a recently retired British Airways Concorde (G-BOAG). The aircraft will be decommissioned from flying status to remain on permanent display at the Museum of Flight. I have heard that some of this work will take place away from Boeing Field so it may still be possible to see this bird in the air (nothing official on this though), but this was definitely my last time. It was well worth the 2.5 hour trip from Vancouver, BC.

G-BOAG apparently set a new speed record from New York to Seattle on the way. The trip was intended to be sub-sonic as clearance could not be gained for supersonic flight over the United States. However, the Canadian Government allowed the flight over Canadian soil at supersonic speeds.

G-BOAG approached the area at a fairly high altitude from the north and did a high flyover before circling for final approach to Boeing Field.

G-BOAG arrives at its new home.

Final Presentation....

Here is an image that I Photostitched together from two images. Couldn't quite get the whole thing into one frame.
