Abbotsford International Airshow Video Clips
1993 - 2000
The video clips below are taken from the Abbotsford International Airshow (1993 - 2000), mostly from the arrivals on Thursday and departures on Monday as well as some from the airshow itself. I have tried to pick out only the unique clips, the sort of things you don't see every day, or perhaps just from a perspective that you wouldn't normally see. Most clips run about 15-20 seconds and are around 1.6-2.2 MB. All the clips are taken by my dad brother or uncle.
Abbotsford 1993

Two formation international flyby. First formation is a Snowbird with a Russian Knight followed by a Nimrod with a CF-18, Su-27 and T-45 representing the four countries participating in the show. 1.5MB 37s |

This full scale Avro Arrow replica was rebuilt at Abbotsford Airport for the airshow and can be seen in this clip taxiing into its static display position under its own power giving a little glimpse into our past and what could have been...5.5MB 48s |

This U-2 was not only on static display at the 1997 Abbotsford Airshow, but performed on Friday including a landing with a Mustang chase car. It is seen here on departure. Quite a unique sound. 0.8MB 21s |
Abbotsford 2000
The guys from the Kansas ANG really knew how to fly the Bone. Here is their high speed departure from Abbotsford with a huge vapour cone around the B-1B. 1.3MB 27s
Not to be outdone by the B-1B, this German Air Force Tornado pilot made sure know one was asleep at Abbotsford Airport with this extremely low (and close) flyby to the tower and the Snowbirds sitting on the ground. 0.8MB 11s
CF-18 pulls up and banks to the left. Gets some vapour on the pull. 0.7MB 10s
F-15 Eagle pulls out of the vertical for a high speed pass. Nice vapour on the pull out. 0.6MB 12s
This time the F-15 pulls into the vertical. Again a lot of vapour. 0.5MB 10s
4 point hesitation roll followed by left bank and climb 0.7MB 15s
This clip, to me, is what airshows are all about. Bud Granley leads the Snowbirds in the Spitfire. What a rare sight....and a fantastic mix of sounds: the jet engines of the Tutors and the Merlin engine of the Spitfire. 1.4MB 26s
